A 33-year-old woman from Chicago, Breanna Gilliams, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting in the Old Town neighborhood last month. Gilliams allegedly shot a 44-year-old man in the chest at around 2:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of North Hudson Avenue.
The victim was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital by paramedics but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Gilliams was arrested on Tuesday in Englewood and has been charged with one count of first-degree murder. She is scheduled for a detention hearing on Thursday.
