Chicago Woman Arrested for Condo Burglary and Mail Theft

Ashley Taylor, a 35-year-old woman from Chicago, was arrested on December 18 in connection with a burglary and mail theft that occurred on August 15 in the city’s Northwest Side. Taylor, previously arrested in 2022 for mail theft, has been charged with one felony count of burglary in the latest case.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service identified Taylor as a suspect after an investigation into the burglary and theft. In 2022, she had been arrested for stealing mail from residential porches, charged with theft of mislaid property, and later convicted in September 2022.

Ruth M. Mendonça, inspector in charge of the Chicago division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, emphasized the agency’s commitment to protecting the integrity of the U.S. mail system and thanked law enforcement partners for their support in apprehending Taylor.

Taylor now faces serious charges in connection with the latest incident, adding to her criminal history.
