Chennai Woman Arrested for ₹54 Lakh Deepavali Chit Fund Scam

The Chit Fund and Kandhu Vatti Investigation wing of the Central Crime Branch has apprehended a 49-year-old woman who had been on the run for four years, accused of defrauding numerous individuals through a fraudulent Deepavali chit fund scheme.

The arrested individual has been identified as Amudha M., a resident of Triplicane in Chennai. Her arrest followed a complaint from B. Saranya, who alleged that Amudha collected Rs54 lakh from various people via three intermediaries, falsely promoting a Deepavali chit fund and gift voucher scheme at her home.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter as they seek to identify other potential victims of the scam.
