Chennai police arrested two youths from Tripura on charges of possessing heroin for sale.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted surveillance on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, near the CSIR Road post office in Taramani. The officers intercepted two men behaving suspiciously. Upon inquiry, they discovered the men were in possession of heroin.
The arrested individuals were identified as Shakim Miah (21) and Asif Mirdha (22), both residents of Tripura. Police seized 2.8 grams of heroin packed in small containers and a bag from them.
A case has been registered at the Taramani police station, and the accused have been taken into custody.
