MARBURY, Md. (January 23, 2025) — A Marbury man has been arrested following a significant drug bust by detectives with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Section.

On January 23, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 4000 block of Vineyard Place, Marbury, Maryland, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. During the search, law enforcement uncovered over $9,000 worth of illegal drugs, including cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

The suspect, 50-year-old Jeffrey McIlwain Sr. of Marbury, was arrested at the scene. Authorities recovered large quantities of the aforementioned narcotics, confirming that McIlwain was involved in significant drug distribution activities within the region.

McIlwain was charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute drugs, including possession of cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. He also faces additional related charges due to the scale of the drug trafficking operation.

Currently, McIlwain remains in custody at the Charles County Detention Center without bond. His arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat the illegal drug trade in the region and protect the community from the dangers of fentanyl and other potent substances.
