The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Chandigarh Police has dismantled a drug supply network in the city with the arrests of key members, including drug supplier Vijay Kumar (also known as Vishal and Buggi), his financial handler Mohit Kumar, and an accomplice, Rajat alias Prabh Gill.
The operation follows a breakthrough from an earlier arrest in January, when Gautam, 21, was caught with 70 grams of heroin near Mandi Ground in Sector 29. Further investigation led to Rohit’s arrest and recovery of additional heroin.
Mohit Kumar was apprehended on March 15 at Landmark Hospital, Sector 33. During questioning, he revealed his role in managing Vijay Kumar’s drug money, including buying an MG Gloster car worth Rs22 lakh with illicit funds and registering it under forged Aadhaar details of Vijay’s girlfriend, Chahat. Mohit also admitted laundering Rs6 lakh through a clothing business called “Trend Style Luxury Clothing” in Mohali.
Following Mohit’s revelations, police arrested Vijay Kumar from Singhpura, Zirakpur. Authorities seized cocaine, drug money, and a scooter from him. Vijay disclosed that Rajat, arrested the next day near Culture Club, Sector 26, distributed drugs in Chandigarh’s nightclubs.
On March 20, police raided Mohit’s garment store in Mohali and seized items worth ₹6 lakh suspected to be bought with drug money. The investigation is ongoing.
