Chandigarh Police Arrest Four in Anti-Narcotics Operations

Heroin and ganja seized in separate raids across the city

In a series of anti-narcotics operations, Chandigarh Police have arrested four individuals involved in drug trafficking, recovering heroin and ganja from their possession under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

On Friday, Honey Kumar, a 20-year-old resident of Chauinda Devi village, Amritsar, was arrested near the cremation ground in Phase-1, Industrial Area, after a tip-off. Police recovered 41.83 gm of heroin from his possession.

The following day, Dinesh alias Bagga, 25, from Manimajra, was arrested near Government Model High School in Pocket No 8. Police seized 6.39 gm of heroin from him during the operation.

In a separate raid on Friday, Bablu (45) and a 40-year-old woman, both from Maloya, were arrested near Sharam Buru Bhawan, Sector 38 West. The police recovered a massive haul of 9.324 kg of ganja from the pair’s possession.

All four accused have been charged under the NDPS Act, and investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to dismantle local drug networks in the region.
