The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Chandigarh Police arrested five drug peddlers, including a woman, and seized charas, ganja, Rs4.15 lakh in cash, and a car during a major crackdown.
The operation began when ANTF received a tip-off that a drug peddler would be delivering charas in Sector 24. Acting on the information, the police intercepted a car and arrested Pankaj Narang (23), a resident of Muktsar currently residing in Kharar. He was accompanied by Rahat Sapra (22) from Rewari. Police recovered 68.28 grams of charas from Pankaj. Although no drugs were found on Rahat, she admitted to her involvement in drug peddling.
On Pankaj’s disclosure, the police raided his residence in Kharar and seized 746 grams of charas, 55 grams of ganja, and Rs15,000 in drug money.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two more suspects: Harjeet Singh (28) and Charandeep Singh alias Bedi (33), both from Delhi. From Harjeet’s house, the police recovered 3.41 grams of Ice and 15.21 grams of ganja, while Charandeep’s residence yielded 11 grams of ganja and Rs4 lakh in cash.
The investigation continued, and the police arrested one more suspect, Himanshu, a Delhi resident, in Paschim Vihar. They recovered 522 grams of ganja from his possession.
The police have launched an extensive probe into the network of drug trafficking and continue to investigate the case further.
