Chad Knueve Arrested for $48K Theft in Logan County

Bellefontaine man faces multiple felony charges including grand theft

A Bellefontaine man, Chad Knueve, 43, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, July 1, in connection with multiple felony thefts and other crimes in Logan County.

According to deputies and detectives with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Knueve faces several charges including grand theft, breaking and entering, tampering with evidence, and criminal trespassing.

Investigators determined that around June 27, Knueve allegedly stole approximately $48,000 worth of property. The stolen items included a 2022 Mahindra riding tractor valued at $40,000, a 2009 Bobcat Fast Trac Zero-Turn riding mower, $5,400 in cash, and a large wooden swing set with an attached slide valued at $2,600.

Detectives confirmed that the stolen property has been recovered and returned to its rightful owners.

Knueve is considered the primary suspect in these crimes and is currently lodged in the Logan County Jail.
