MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) – A man, identified as Ceolus Shall, was arrested in Bethesda after allegedly stealing merchandise from multiple stores and assaulting employees at a 7-Eleven on May 1, 2025.

Around 2 p.m., officers responded to the 7-Eleven on Rockville Pike after reports of an assault. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Shall had entered the store, attempted to steal items, and when confronted by employees, threw items at them and kicked the store’s front door twice before fleeing the scene.

Officers provided a description of Shall, and about an hour later, they spotted him near the 7-Eleven. Following him to the North Bethesda Metro Station, they attempted to arrest him, but he ran. A short foot pursuit ended with Shall’s arrest.

Upon searching Shall, officers found clothes stolen from H&M and GAP on Grand Park Avenue. Both stores confirmed the items were taken earlier that day. Additionally, Shall provided a fake name, but officers used law enforcement databases to confirm his true identity.

Shall was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and charged with theft under $100, malicious destruction of property, obstruction, and failure to truthfully identify himself. He was later released on a $100 unsecured bond.
