The Central Crime Branch (CCB), along with the South and North East Divisions police, has arrested six individuals, including two foreign women, in separate narcotics cases, recovering drugs valued at Rs23.84 crore.
The two women, Marwa Essem Ossam (31) and Zargoun Salaheldin (32), had arrived in India on medical visas. Acting on a tip-off, police raided an apartment in Gollahalli village, Kothanur, and seized 4.815 kg of MDMA worth Rs12.03 crore. Cases have been registered against them under the NDPS Act and the Foreigners Act.
In a separate operation, the Anti-Narcotics Wing (ANW) arrested Ladu Ram (40), a driver from Rajasthan residing near Kudlu Gate, Singasandra. Facing financial constraints, he allegedly began peddling drugs with his brother-in-law. Authorities recovered 1.399 kg of MDMA crystals and 2.03 kg of opium, valued at around Rs4 crore.
Another raid targeted the foreign post office under KG Nagar police limits, where parcels containing 3 kg of hydro ganja worth Rs3.81 crore were seized. The accused, Nizar Mohammed (37) and Rasheed (46), both from Kerala, reportedly purchased hydro ganja from Thailand and Germany using cryptocurrency under fake identities “Khachibbi Jeezs” and “Khidoinoise Jeez.” Police are now tracing additional consumers and associates.
The coordinated operations reflect the ongoing vigilance of Bengaluru police in cracking down on drug trafficking networks involving both local and international offenders.
