Colorado Springs police have arrested a man accused of being involved in a broader pattern of criminal activity, including theft and burglary.
Authorities say 48-year-old Carl Goodwin was taken into custody Tuesday near Dublin Boulevard and Rangewood Drive. He was arrested alongside 42-year-old Robert Scott and Katie Kimmett, both of whom had unrelated outstanding warrants.
Detectives had been investigating a pattern of crimes involving money laundering, identity theft, burglary, and motor vehicle theft, which ultimately led to Goodwin being identified as a suspect.
Police obtained a warrant for Goodwin’s arrest and located him in possession of a felony quantity of narcotics, as well as tools commonly used for mail theft and burglary. During the on-scene investigation, officers also recovered a stolen vehicle.
All three individuals were taken into custody. Goodwin is currently being held at the El Paso County Jail on a parole hold, while Scott is being held on a $400 bond. Authorities have not confirmed the custody status of Kimmett.
