BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) — Two men were arrested following a major gang and narcotics investigation across East Baton Rouge and Ascension parishes, officials confirmed.
Cameron Wilkinson, 20, and Ricky Williams Jr., 21, were apprehended after months of surveillance by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Gang Intelligence and Enforcement Unit.
Investigators tied the suspects to a drug trafficking operation involving fentanyl pills, cocaine, marijuana, prescription medications, and stolen firearms.
On Wednesday, July 16, authorities executed search warrants at six locations throughout Baton Rouge and Ascension Parish. The raids resulted in the seizure of:
Nearly 7 ounces of fentanyl, equating to about 1,930 lethal doses
Over 10 ounces of marijuana and THC products
Cocaine, alprazolam, and oxycodone pills
$934 in cash
Seven firearms
Wilkinson and Williams face multiple charges, including drug possession with intent to distribute, illegal firearm possession, possession of a machine gun, and conspiracy.
The operation was a joint effort between the EBRSO, Louisiana Probation and Parole, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Gonzales Police Department, and federal agencies including the DEA and ATF.
