A 21-year-old California man, Cameron Jacob Blondeel-Timmerman, has been arrested on multiple felony charges, including statutory rape and kidnapping, after authorities located a missing 15-year-old girl in a multi-state investigation led by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO).
The case began when the teen’s parents reported her missing on February 4, after last seeing her on February 3. Investigators later discovered that the girl had met Blondeel-Timmerman at a hotel on January 31 before he returned to Los Angeles, California.
Authorities determined that on February 4, the teen boarded a Greyhound bus to Los Angeles, where Blondeel-Timmerman was based. Working alongside the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, NHCSO detectives intercepted the girl at a bus stop in El Paso, Texas, ensuring her safe return to her family.
Meanwhile, Blondeel-Timmerman was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and later extradited to New Hanover County, North Carolina, where he faces serious felony charges:
Two counts of statutory rape of a child
Two counts of first-degree kidnapping
Two counts of indecent liberties with a minor
One count of abduction of a child
Blondeel-Timmerman is currently held without bond at the New Hanover County Detention Facility as the investigation continues.
