BURBANK, CA — A man with a history of public lewd acts, including sniffing women without consent, has been arrested again for the same behavior.
Calese Carron Crowder, 38, a registered sex offender from Glendale, was taken into custody Tuesday by Burbank Police officers at the Walmart in the Empire Center shopping plaza. The arrest followed reports of a suspicious man loitering in the women’s department of a nearby Nordstrom Rack.
By the time officers arrived, the suspect had already left Nordstrom Rack. He was located minutes later at the Walmart across the parking lot. Store security footage showed Crowder following a female shopper into the women’s department. Officers then observed him crouching behind the woman and engaging in what they described as “lewd behavior by inappropriately sniffing her buttocks.”
Police confronted and detained Crowder, who is currently on active parole. He has a long record of similar offenses, including a viral 2023 incident in which he was caught on video at a Barnes & Noble in Burbank engaging in similar conduct. That footage, posted by TikTok user Michaela Witter, sparked widespread outrage and prompted more women to come forward with accusations.
Crowder has also been arrested for prowling, peeping into homes, and failing to register as a sex offender. He was previously released from jail due to overcrowding but was re-arrested for parole violations shortly after.
Candice Horry, wife of former Los Angeles Lakers player Robert Horry, said Crowder stalked their daughter more than a decade ago and called for his permanent incarceration.
Now facing new charges of loitering with intent to commit a crime, Crowder is being held on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 1.
