The East Godavari district police have apprehended Bula Nagasai, an inter-state thief accused in over 80 house theft cases, and recovered approximately 465 grams of stolen gold ornaments valued at around Rs43.24 lakh.
Acting on directives from District SP D Narasimha Kishore, the arrest was led by Central Zone DSP K Ramesh Babu and executed by the Prakash Nagar police team under Inspector R Sk Bajilal. Surveillance in areas plagued by house break-ins culminated in Nagasai’s capture near the RTC Complex in Rajamahendravaram on June 15.
Simultaneously, Mohammed Sonu Ali Ahmed Khan, an associate who aided Nagasai in concealing the stolen gold, was detained near Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Thaderu village, Bhimavaram.
During interrogation, Nagasai admitted to his involvement in thefts since 2007 across cities like Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Kadapa, Nellore, Ongole, Attili, Tanuku, Tadepalligudem, Kavali, and Bengaluru. Previously arrested by Bengaluru police in 2023, he served a one-year jail term before resuming his criminal activities.
Recovered gold includes:
246 grams from a 2024 Rajamahendravaram case (Cr No 204/2024)
47 grams from a 2023 Kadapa Chinna Chowk case
67 grams from a 2024 Ongole One Town case
48 grams from a 2025 case
41 grams from a 2025 Nellore Balaji Nagar case
Nagasai has multiple warrants pending, including at Gajuwaka police station.
