ANGIER, NC – A former employee of a Johnston County plumbing company has been arrested for allegedly using a company-issued fuel card after his termination.

Bryson Blaine Woodell, 23, of NC Highway 50 N in Angier, is facing charges of felony financial card fraud and felony financial card theft, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

Woodell had been employed at Avery Plumbing, Inc., located on Plain View Church Road. After his termination in 2024, he reportedly failed to return a company fuel card, claiming it had been lost.

Investigators say that after being let go, Woodell used the card to make unauthorized purchases totaling $2,582.25 before the company discovered the transactions and canceled the card.

The theft was reported in January 2025, and Woodell was arrested on June 10. He was booked into jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
