A drug dealing operation run by two brothers was uncovered after their arrest in connection with a burglary.
Kieran Beart, 27, and his younger brother, 20-year-old Paddy Beart, were arrested on 23 June 2023 on suspicion of aggravated burglary. Although no charges were pursued regarding the burglary, an in-depth analysis of their seized phones exposed a drug dealing enterprise.
Data from Kieran Beart’s phone revealed extensive drug transactions between November 2022 and June 2023. Messages indicated that he was selling quantities of drugs ranging from small amounts to multiple kilos worth thousands of pounds. His partner, Kimberley Cox, 21, was implicated in the operation as well, with drug buyers being directed to make payments to her bank account.
Paddy Beart’s phone also revealed significant activity, including arranging the purchase of kilos of cannabis and coordinating with runners for distribution.
Both brothers were sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on 4 April. Kieran Beart received a five-year sentence after admitting to the supply of cocaine, ecstasy, ketamine, cannabis, and acquiring criminal property. Paddy Beart was sentenced to two years and eight months for his role in the supply of cocaine and cannabis and acquiring criminal property.
Kimberley Cox, who was involved in the acquisition of criminal property, was given a one-year community order and fined £500.
Detective Sergeant Rich Ellison commented, “The evidence from their phones allowed us to break up this drug network and reduce the impact of drug-related crime in Fenland. We urge anyone with information to report suspicious activity.”
