The RAK Marg police have arrested two brothers, Kalpesh (29) and Yogesh Kudalkar (31), for allegedly killing their 32-year-old friend Nikhil Sakharam Londhe following an early morning argument in Wadala on Saturday. Police confirmed all three were intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Nikhil Londhe, who lived on a footpath near the Wadala bus depot with his wife and five-year-old son, was attacked by the brothers with a sharp object after a heated dispute around 6 a.m. Senior Inspector Sandeep Randive reported that Londhe sustained severe injuries and later died in the hospital.
The accused brothers, who also reside in the same area, have a history of criminal cases, according to police records.
RAK Marg police apprehended Kalpesh and Yogesh immediately following the attack and registered a murder case. The investigation is ongoing.
This tragedy marks the second major loss for Londhe’s family this year. Earlier in February, Londhe’s one-and-a-half-year-old son died after being hit by a speeding car while sleeping on the footpath with his mother, who suffered a fractured shoulder. The driver was subsequently arrested.
