COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Brody Dean Harlan, 23, of Carrollton, was arrested by Coweta County Sheriff’s deputies on three felony counts of child sexual exploitation. The arrest followed a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Deputies say their investigation, which began in May, uncovered that Harlan was in possession of and distributing child sexual abuse material. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop near the Newnan downtown square.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants charging Harlan with possession and distribution of child pornography. All of Harlan’s electronic devices were seized as part of the ongoing investigation, with authorities noting that additional charges could be filed depending on further findings.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that the case is continuing as they work to hold those responsible for exploiting children accountable.
