A Washington, D.C. man was sentenced Tuesday to 35 years in federal prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy tied to two violent street gangs, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

Broadus Jamal Daniels, 30, also known as “Wardy,” was convicted of drug and firearm offenses linked to a multi-year conspiracy involving the Jugg Gang (JG) and a D.C.-based crew called PDS. Daniels, a senior member or “big homie” in JG, formed an alliance with PDS in August 2018.

The operation ran through the 3300 to 3500 blocks of Wheeler Road SE, where PDS controlled an open-air drug market near a local grocery store. Between August 2018 and April 2023, the PDS/JG alliance distributed narcotics from trap houses and the nearby Holiday Market area.

As the conspiracy expanded, rival crews engaged in drive-by shootings, referred to as “spinning the block,” to target the gang’s territory. In 2019, a member of the alliance began assembling AR-style pistols using online kits, which were modified for fully automatic fire. These untraceable firearms, known as “ghost guns,” are classified by the ATF as privately made firearms.

U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson also sentenced Daniels to four years of supervised release following his prison term. His co-defendant, Andre Alonte Willis, a leader of PDS, was sentenced in February to 20 years in federal prison for his role in the crimes.

The sentence reflects the ongoing commitment to addressing gang violence and illegal firearms trafficking in the District of Columbia.
