VAN WERT, OH — Brittney Barajas, 29, of Convoy, was booked by the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office on July 13, 2025, facing two counts of theft, one count of breaking and entering, and one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle. She is currently being held in the Van Wert County Jail.
Barajas has a history of legal issues in the region. On June 9, 2025, in Fulton County Common Pleas Court, she pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, and was placed on three years of community control with requirements to complete the WORTH Center program.
Earlier in April 2025, Van Wert County deputies served a warrant on Barajas for bond violation. She was transported from Paulding County Jail to appear in court and was returned to Paulding County to face charges of receiving stolen property.
At a sentencing hearing on June 15, 2025, in Paulding County Common Pleas Court, Barajas was placed on community control for four years for two counts of receiving stolen property (fourth- and fifth-degree felonies) and aggravated possession of drugs (a fifth-degree felony). Her sentence includes participation in the WORTH Center and Paulding County Drug Court programs.
