A drug-fueled private party in a rented villa in Kalyvia, eastern Attica, resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals, including a British DJ of Azeri descent, who is accused of organizing the event.

The police operation, carried out on Monday morning, led to the detention of the DJ, two other individuals charged with drug trafficking, and three Greek police officers who allegedly acted as bouncers at the event.

During the bust, authorities uncovered a variety of illegal substances, including cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis, ketamine, LSD, and methamphetamines. They also found €44,000 in cash stored in a safe.

The DJ, known for her connections to influential figures in Azerbaijan, has been previously linked to money laundering investigations in the UK. In December 2020, the Evening Standard reported that she and her husband were involved in a scheme that used illicit funds to finance an extravagant lifestyle, including luxury travel and fees for model schools. Later, in June 2021, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) also linked the couple to money laundering activities.

The police operation was triggered by intelligence about a “Mikaela and friends” party that had been ongoing for several days in the rented villa. The event added to the growing scrutiny of the DJ’s alleged ties to Azerbaijan’s ruling elite, with reports suggesting that she is a cousin of the Azeri president.

In addition to the drug-related charges, the arrested police officers are facing an internal investigation.
