KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A pizza deliverer, Brianna Alvelo, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman in her motel room following a dispute over a tip.
The incident took place in Kissimmee, Florida, shortly after Alvelo delivered a pizza to the woman. According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the woman gave Alvelo $50 on a $33.10 bill but expected change. When Alvelo walked away, the woman asked for her change, only to be told that the delivery service did not provide change.
After searching for smaller bills, the woman received $2 in change. Alvelo walked away, visibly frustrated. Later that night, the woman, her boyfriend, and their young daughter were asleep when they heard a knock on the motel room door.
Upon opening it, the woman was confronted by Alvelo and an armed man, both wearing face masks. The man forced the boyfriend into the bathroom while Alvelo searched through the room’s belongings. Alvelo then stabbed the woman 14 times with a pocket knife as she tried to protect her daughter.
The woman, who had just discovered she was pregnant, was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent surgery for a ruptured lung.
Alvelo is now facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, kidnapping, and aggravated assault with a weapon. Court records show that she has no attorney and requested a court-appointed one before her appearance.
Authorities have not yet identified the male accomplice involved in the crime.
