LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – A man was arrested early Sunday morning after causing a disturbance at a fast-food restaurant in the Heights neighborhood, Laredo police said.

Officers responded around 1:42 a.m. on August 10 to a location in the 2100 block of Guadalupe Street, following reports of an aggressive individual inside the restaurant lobby.

The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Brian Silva, who was previously involved in a similar disturbance. Police say Silva is also the ex-husband of a current employee at the establishment.

When officers attempted to detain Silva, he resisted, leading to a physical altercation in which one officer was injured. During the struggle, Silva allegedly attempted to take the officer’s service weapon.

Silva was ultimately subdued and arrested. He now faces several charges, including:

Criminal trespassing

Making terroristic threats

Resisting arrest

Attempting to take a weapon from an officer

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be considered.
