Seneca Couple Arrested in Connection to Oconee County Burglary and Larceny

WALHALLA – The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Brian Daniel Reed, 39, and Rebecca Reed Savage, 60, both of Seneca, following an investigation into a burglary and larceny incident.

Reed was charged with first-degree burglary and grand larceny, while Savage faces charges of second-degree burglary and petit larceny. Both suspects were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Friday and were released later that afternoon after receiving a combined $30,000 personal recognizance bond.

The investigation began on March 4 when a deputy spoke to the victim about a reported larceny at a residence on Dixie Drive in Mountain Rest. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered that furniture and other household items had been stolen.

Detectives determined that Reed and Savage had entered the residence without permission between February 6 and February 25, taking items from the home. According to the arrest warrant, Reed has prior convictions for third-degree burglary.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case.
