PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. — A convicted felon, Brian Feltner, 39, was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing a rifle from his roommate, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies responded to a home near the 67000 block of East Highway 50 following a report that Feltner had taken two rifles belonging to his roommate. When deputies arrived, they found Feltner sitting in a vehicle outside the residence. Although Feltner attempted to drive away, officers stopped the vehicle and took him into custody at gunpoint.

During a search, deputies spotted a rifle inside the vehicle matching the description of one reported stolen. Feltner admitted to taking the rifle as “collateral.”

Feltner is a convicted felon currently on parole and was also wanted on two outstanding warrants. He was arrested on those warrants, as well as charges of theft and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

The investigation remains ongoing.
