BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Beaufort County man is accused of killing his brother in a shooting over the weekend.
On Saturday, deputies responded to a 911 call on Cherry Road reporting a man had been shot. When officials arrived, they found the victim, Jonathan Cox, along with other people in the home. Jonathan Cox later died from his injuries.
Authorities say the suspect, 33-year-old Brian Cox, initially left the scene but was arrested minutes later at his home on Terrapin Track Road. Deputies confirmed the two men were brothers.
Brian Cox, of Washington, is charged with murder and is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center without bond.
