HANOVER TWP, NJ – Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Hanover Township Police Chief Michael Loock announced the sentencing of 40-year-old Brian J. Cariddi from Hanover Township for engaging in explicit online communications with a child from North Carolina.
On January 8, 2025, Cariddi pled guilty to one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a second-degree offense. On April 29, 2025, Judge Claudia Jones sentenced him to three years in New Jersey State Prison, with 18 months of parole ineligibility, followed by Parole Supervision for Life. Upon his release, Cariddi will be required to comply with Megan’s Law and is prohibited from having any contact with the victim.
Between December 11, 2022, and January 10, 2023, Cariddi engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the victim, a 9-year-old child. He exposed his intimate parts during the online chats and solicited explicit images from the victim.
Cariddi was arrested on March 8, 2024, and remained in custody at the Morris County Correctional Facility until the case’s resolution.
Prosecutor Carroll commended the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Hanover Township Police Department for their dedication in securing the conviction.
