LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies have arrested a 42-year-old Camden man in connection with a deadly shooting near Lake Murray, authorities reported Thursday.
Brian Vincemichael Ashford has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.
Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said investigators reviewed evidence from the scene and mobile phone records, determining that Ashford traveled to the county early Monday and fatally shot 43-year-old Raynard Brewington near his apartment door.
Authorities indicated the men had recent disputes after discovering they both had relationships with the same woman.
Ashford was arrested Wednesday night and booked into the Lexington County Detention Center early Thursday.
