Bret Tucker Arrested After Fleeing from Weapons Disturbance in Bunnell

Bret Tucker, 50, was arrested by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) on Sunday after allegedly fleeing from a weapons disturbance in Bunnell. Tucker spent two days in jail, facing two felony charges and one misdemeanor, according to public data from his arrest.

The incident began when the FCSO received a call about a man threatening several people with a handgun. The suspect, later identified as Tucker, reportedly told the victims to call the police and report a dead body, though no bodies were involved in the situation.

Deputies responded to the scene in Bunnell, but by the time they arrived, Tucker had fled in his pickup truck. A search was initiated, leading authorities to a residence on CR-135, where Tucker was found. When deputies approached the home, Tucker reportedly ran inside.

After entering the home, deputies attempted to convince Tucker to come out. When he refused, a perimeter was established around the property, and the FCSO Unmanned Aircraft Systems Unit (drone pilots) was deployed. A public address system was used to command Tucker to exit, and after some time, he complied.

Tucker was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse without great bodily harm, and domestic battery. His bond was set at $27,500, which he posted on Tuesday. Records show that Tucker has no prior criminal bookings in Flagler County.

Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly commented on the situation, stating, “No argument should ever resort to violence or a threat of violence, especially with a weapon. Our deputies did an outstanding job to quickly de-escalate the situation and safely take him into custody.”
