APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 63-year-old Victorville woman, Brenda Maccleary, was arrested for robbery and drug possession after allegedly shoplifting and assaulting a store employee at the Home Depot in Apple Valley.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at around 3:39 p.m. Deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a theft in progress at the Home Depot located at 12218 Apple Valley Road.
According to the Apple Valley Police Department, Maccleary entered the store, concealed merchandise in her personal bag, and attempted to exit without paying. When a loss prevention employee confronted her at the main entrance, she pushed the employee while trying to flee.
Deputies found Maccleary sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot and detained her without incident. During a search, officers discovered suspected methamphetamine in her possession.
She was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center on charges of PC 211 – robbery and HS11377(a) – possession of a controlled substance.
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the Victorville District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Maccleary for misdemeanor shoplifting and narcotics possession.
