BELLEFONTAINE — The Bellefontaine Police Department arrested a Lowe’s employee after she was caught stealing merchandise over several weeks, authorities reported Tuesday afternoon.

A Lowe’s investigator contacted police after reviewing surveillance footage showing Breanne Harrington, 26, taking items from the store over a four-week period.

When questioned, Harrington admitted to stealing the merchandise, valued at $2,440.50, and told investigators the items were stored in a trailer at her home.

Police searched the trailer with Harrington’s consent and recovered all the stolen items, which included DeWalt and Craftsman tools. The goods were returned to Lowe’s.

Harrington was arrested and booked into the Logan County Jail, where she faces a theft charge.
