Brandon Mays Arrested in Millerton Copper Theft Case

Fentanyl, paraphernalia found after Mini Mart burglary

MILLERTON, Pa. (WETM) — A Bradford County man, Brandon E. Mays, 28, has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes following a burglary and theft at the Dandy Mini Mart in Millerton earlier this month, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, when Mays allegedly entered an unlocked shed next to the store and stole copper wire, damaging a wet floor sign to strip the wiring. He also reportedly took aluminum cans from nearby trash bins.

The store manager reported the theft on July 8, and while troopers were reviewing security footage on-site, Mays walked into the Mini Mart. He was identified, detained, and questioned. According to the police report, Mays admitted to being the person in the footage and said he sold the copper and cans for approximately $13 total at a local scrap yard.

A search revealed Mays was carrying:

Two smoking devices

Five hypodermic needles

A plastic bag containing fentanyl

Mays was taken into custody and transported to the state police barracks for further processing.

Criminal Trespass (Felony 3)

Theft of Secondary Metal (Misdemeanor 3)

Criminal Mischief (Misdemeanor 3)

Possession of a Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)

Two counts of Drug Paraphernalia Possession (Misdemeanors)

Mays remains in custody as the case progresses.
