Brandi Carroll’s Bond Reinstated After Court Appearance Mix-Up

Woman’s bond reinstated after public defender’s mistake about court date

THE VILLAGES, FL — Brandi Carroll, 40, of Weirsdale, had her $2,500 bond reinstated after a misunderstanding regarding her court appearance on March 6, 2025, was cleared up.

Carroll, who is facing felony charges for methamphetamine possession, was initially ordered to forfeit her bond after failing to appear for her Lake County Court date. A warrant was issued for her arrest, but the situation took a turn when her public defender filed a motion to explain the error.

According to the motion, Carroll had actually shown up for court as required. However, her public defender had mistakenly informed her that she would not need to attend. The judge reviewed the situation, withdrew the arrest warrant, and reinstated her bond.

The confusion stemmed from Carroll’s 2024 arrest after being a passenger in a Ford F-250 truck with illegally tinted windows in Lady Lake. Officers suspected narcotics activity, and a K-9 unit alerted authorities to the possible presence of drugs. A search revealed methamphetamine, which Carroll initially claimed ownership of, before changing her story.

Carroll is currently facing a felony charge for the possession of methamphetamine, and the case is still ongoing.
