WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — A Georgetown-area man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Johnathon Cruz last month.

Bradley Stone Puckett, 20, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in Travis County and transported to the Williamson County Jail. He is charged with one count of murder, and his bond has been set at $500,000.

The arrest follows a deadly shooting that occurred on April 25 in the 20100 block of McShepherd Road, just outside the Georgetown city limits. Cruz was found dead at the scene when authorities arrived.

Commander John Foster of the Williamson County Criminal Investigations Division stated, “We are grateful to bring some measure of closure to Johnathon Cruz’s family with this arrest. Our detectives work tirelessly and thoroughly on every homicide investigation.”

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators believe Puckett acted alone, and no other suspects are currently being pursued in the case.

The investigation remains active as officials continue to process evidence and prepare for legal proceedings.
