TOWANDA BOROUGH, Pa. — A Troy man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly stealing an ambulance, breaking into two homes, and assaulting police officers in Towanda, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Bradley Cordner, 40, was taken into custody on January 10 and now faces a long list of charges, including aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, criminal trespass, theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and driving under the influence, along with several summary offenses.

State police said the incident began around 8:50 p.m. when Towanda Memorial Hospital staff reported an ambulance stolen from a parking lot near the hospital. The vehicle was later spotted near South Main Street, where witnesses saw Cordner fleeing on foot toward Towanda Borough.

Troopers located Cordner at a residence on South Main Street, where he had allegedly forced his way inside. Officers said a homeowner was attempting to push Cordner out when police arrived. When troopers attempted to arrest him, Cordner reportedly became combative, striking an officer and resisting despite being tased. Police say he kicked one trooper and bit another before being subdued.

Investigators later learned Cordner had also entered another nearby home without permission. A resident told police she was watching television when she suddenly noticed Cordner inside her living room. Her husband was able to force him out before Cordner fled across the street.

Video recovered from inside the stolen ambulance allegedly shows Cordner driving recklessly, committing multiple traffic violations, and striking another vehicle before continuing to drive away. Authorities also discovered Cordner had an active NCIC warrant for a parole violation.

Cordner was processed and transported to the Bradford County Correctional Facility, where he was denied bail. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on January 21.
