SKIATOOK, OK — A 70-year-old man is dead, and his former stepson is behind bars following a fatal assault in Skiatook, according to the Skiatook Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of an assault on Friday, May 16, at approximately 6:19 p.m. on W. Rogers Blvd. Upon arrival, they discovered the elderly man unresponsive. He was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as 27-year-old Brad Loyd Morgan, the victim’s ex-stepson. An overnight manhunt led to Morgan’s arrest just before noon the next day.
Morgan has been booked into the Osage County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the motive and details surrounding the deadly altercation.
