A Bournemouth woman has been found guilty of murder after deliberately driving her Range Rover into a motorcyclist.

Zoe Treadwell, 36, was convicted of killing 28-year-old Joey Johnstone after striking him with her vehicle on South Kinson Drive in Bournemouth in April 2025. She was also found guilty of attempting to murder a second man and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a third man following a separate collision in May 2025.

A second defendant, Jonjay Harrison, 25, from Bournemouth, was found guilty of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm in relation to the May incident. The first collision occurred in the early hours of 9 April 2025, when Treadwell chased two electric motorbikes at high speed in South Kinson Drive. She struck one of the bikes, killing Joey Johnstone instantly from a traumatic head injury. The second collision on 1 May 2025 involved a Mercedes mounting the pavement on Kinson Road, hitting another electric motorbike and injuring the rider, Joshua Lovell, 33, with multiple fractures. His pillion passenger, Free Jenkins, 30, sustained life-changing injuries, including a partial leg amputation.

Dorset Police launched separate investigations into both incidents, gathering CCTV footage, witness statements, DNA evidence, and vehicle speed analysis. Once a link between the two cases was identified, the investigations were merged.

Four people were arrested in connection with the attacks: Zoe Treadwell, 36; Taylor Warwick, 18; Jonjay Harrison, 25; and a 17-year-old boy. Warwick and the 17-year-old denied being in the Range Rover and were acquitted of all charges.

Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team, said:

“The tragic death of Joey Johnstone resulted from a deliberate, targeted, and senselessaggression continued the following month, causing serious and life-altering injuries to others. Our investigation has ensured those responsible are now facing justice.”

Chief Inspector Barry Gosling added that officers will continue high-visibility patrols in West Howe to reassure the community and prevent future violent incidents.

Treadwell and Harrison will be sentenced at a later date. Dorset Police continue to support the victims’ families.
