JEFFERSON, GA — Hall County Sheriff’s investigators arrested 61-year-old Bobby Kenneth Nix on Wednesday, after charges related to a crash that took place in October 2024. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on October 30, 2024, on Belmont Highway near Candler Road. Nix, the sole occupant of a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, crashed into a tree after the vehicle left the roadway, resulting in serious injuries.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson B.J. Williams, Nix was found to be in possession of drugs following the crash. During the investigation, authorities discovered 43 grams of methamphetamine, less than an ounce of marijuana, and various drug-related objects. The drugs were reportedly found at the crash site.
After the crash, Nix was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was not immediately arrested but was later charged once he was released from medical care.
On Wednesday, Hall County investigators arrested Nix at the Jackson County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond at the Hall County Jail, facing felony charges for methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute. In addition to the felony charge, Nix faces charges for DUI drugs, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia possession, and failure to maintain lane.
