MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — A Somerville man pleaded guilty Monday to the 2020 murder of his roommate, according to court records obtained by News 19.

64-year-old Bobby Hamblen was charged with killing David McCluskey. Court documents indicate Hamblen shot McCluskey with a .22 caliber pistol during an argument and later dumped his body at Bluff City Landing.

Hamblen was sentenced to 20 years, with the term structured so that he must serve five years in custody followed by 24 months of supervised probation.

Due to Hamblen’s health, a request was submitted asking the state to allow him to serve his sentence at the Hamilton Aged and Infirmed Center.
