PARAGOULD, Ark. — Blaine Nelson, 24, is being held on a $10,000 cash-only bond after Paragould police said he injured a child during a domestic incident.
Court documents state that officers were first called to a home on Oct. 7 for a domestic altercation. Police instructed the involved parties to separate and calm down to prevent further issues.
Later, officers were dispatched again after another incident escalated. Authorities said Nelson grabbed an 8-year-old girl by the arm, forcibly took a phone from her hands, and smashed it on the ground. The girl sustained a minor injury to her arm during the incident.
Nelson was arrested and transported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. He faces second-degree domestic battery charges.
If Nelson posts bail, he is ordered to have no contact with the victim and must wear an ankle monitor.
