Bladen County Drug Sweep Nets 15 Arrests

Operation Thanksgiving Sweep targets narcotics crimes

BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) announced arrests following a multi-agency operation targeting narcotics sales in Bladenboro, Elizabethtown, and Clarkton.

Dubbed “Operation Thanksgiving Sweep,” the crackdown on Nov. 18 led to the arrest of 15 of 26 suspects. More than 80 criminal charges, including drug and firearms offenses, were obtained through warrants.

The arrested individuals include:

Thomas Ray Hammonds, 58, Chadbourn: PWIMSD Schedule II, Felony Possession Schedule II

Gary Carter, 65, Elizabethtown: Felony Possession Schedule II, PWIMSD Schedule II, Sale near school

James Dewey Ezzel, 50, Clarkton: Conspire Sell Meth, Felony Possession, Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling, DWLR, Drug paraphernalia

Dwayne Campbell Jr., 34, Clarkton: Felony Possession, Drug paraphernalia, served with two arrest orders

Rubin Lee Harrelson Jr., 50, Clarkton (on parole): Conspire Sell Meth, Parole violation

Damon James Mullins, 50, East Arcadia: Three counts PWIMSD Schedule II

Jashaune Matthew George, 30, Clarkton: PWIMSD, Felon with firearm, Maintain dwelling for drugs

Dustin Wade Norris, 35, Elizabethtown: Felony probation violations

Brittany Kaye Clewis, 36, Clarkton: Felony Possession Schedule II

Monica Reaves Britt, 39, Bladenboro: PWIMSD Schedule II

Briana Yolanda Rogers, 39, Elizabethtown: Three counts Felony Possession Schedule II

Rachel Nicole Norris, 31, Clarkton: Felony probation violation

Franklin Quentil Pharr, 41, Elizabethtown: Drug, firearm, and sexual offense charges

Latoyia Richelle Mclaurin, 38, Elizabethtown: Felony Child Abuse-Sexual Act

Vickie Evalina Godwin, 40, Tar Heel: Felony Possession Schedule II, Manufacture, Maintain Dwelling

Seized narcotics and firearms included:

1 rifle and 1 stolen pistol

22.1 grams methamphetamine

8.5 grams marijuana

4 grams crack cocaine

14 MDMA units

13 Suboxone units

BCSO said the arrests followed months of citizen complaints. Probation and Parole, along with the U.S. Marshal Service, assisted with the operation. Officials noted that efforts to apprehend remaining suspects are ongoing.
