In a shocking case in Bhopal, Tulsiram, a man employed at a momos shop, was arrested for stealing a Rs 21 lakh Thar Roxx jeep following the death of its owner, Sachin Gokhale, an SBI bank manager. Tulsiram had attempted to sell the stolen vehicle but was apprehended before completing the transaction.
TT Nagar Station House Officer, Sudhir Arajaria, confirmed the arrest and shared the investigation details. Two police teams were formed to solve the case. One team analyzed footage from 35-40 CCTV cameras and tracked the jeep’s movements, while the other questioned witnesses and locals.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Tulsiram was seen driving the stolen Thar from Platinum Plaza, where the vehicle had been parked by the late Gokhale. The police traced Tulsiram’s location, surrounded him, and recovered the vehicle.
Tulsiram confessed to the crime during interrogation. He revealed that after hearing about Gokhale’s death, he saw an opportunity to steal the jeep. Tulsiram used his brother’s access to the SBI guest house where Gokhale had stayed and took the vehicle’s keys. He then drove off with the jeep.
When questioned by a parking guard, Tulsiram falsely claimed he was taking the jeep to Gokhale’s family in Indore. However, when Gokhale’s family discovered the vehicle was missing, they filed an FIR, and the investigation ensued.
After stealing the jeep, Tulsiram took it to celebrate his friend Shubham’s birthday. Later, he crashed into a motorcyclist, damaging the jeep’s bumper, and attempted to repair it. Before he could sell the vehicle, the police tracked him down and arrested him.
