DUNDEE, N.Y. — A 67-year-old woman from Dundee has been arrested after deputies say she was caught stealing items from the Dollar General in the Village of Dundee.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Betsy Heffernan was seen placing merchandise into her purse without paying on Thursday.
Deputies say Heffernan had previously been trespassed from the store earlier this year but returned and attempted to shoplift.
She was arrested and charged with trespass and petit larceny before being released on appearance tickets.
Heffernan is scheduled to appear in Town of Starkey Court at a later date.
