ANDERSON, S.C. — Two fugitives were taken into custody Monday following a dramatic standoff involving the Hells Angels’ clubhouse in Anderson, South Carolina.
Deputies from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office were tracking Benji Johnson, a fugitive with active warrants out of Minnesota. When law enforcement approached, Johnson fled and ran into the Hells Angels’ clubhouse on South McDuffie Street, where he barricaded himself inside.
The sheriff’s office deployed multiple units to the scene, including K-9 teams, SWAT officers, and the Fugitive Investigative Unit. After a tense standoff, Johnson eventually surrendered peacefully. Alongside him, a woman with outstanding warrants from Anderson City was also arrested.
Authorities confirmed that Johnson will remain in custody in Anderson County until extradition arrangements are made with Minnesota.
