Benjamin Pater Sentenced to 18 Months for Stabbing Rochester Teen

Waltham man pleads guilty to second-degree assault with a weapon

ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Waltham man was sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to stabbing a Rochester teenager last December.

Benjamin Pater, 25, admitted to second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon in April. The incident involved a confrontation between Pater and a teen boy whose 14-year-old girlfriend Pater claimed to be a “father figure” to.

According to Rochester Police and court documents, Pater stabbed the teen in the neck and thigh, causing significant injuries.

Pater will serve his sentence at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud.
