by Ananya Mehta

In a major crackdown ahead of New Year celebrations, Bengaluru City Police arrested six drug peddlers and seized narcotics worth Rs5.2 crore in three separate operations. The raids were conducted by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) and the Sanjaynagar police as part of intensified anti-drug measures across the city.

The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Mustafa, Karthik S., Suraj Kumar Singh, and Anumodh K. Police also detained two foreign nationals, Obiejesi Chigozie Davi and Sani Sadiq, both residents of Marenahalli near Bagalur in northeast Bengaluru.

Officials said the operations were launched based on specific intelligence inputs and targeted drug distribution networks operating in different parts of the city. The seizures dealt a significant blow to narcotics supply chains, particularly ahead of festive celebrations when drug demand typically rises.

Further investigation is underway to identify suppliers, funding sources, and possible interstate or international links connected to the accused.
