In a major drug bust, Bengaluru police have arrested a Nigerian national and his Indian accomplice, dismantling a narcotic distribution network that spanned across the city. The operation led by the Anti-Narcotics Division of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) resulted in the seizure of narcotics worth over Rs1.5 crore.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Michael Dike Okali, a 41-year-old Nigerian national, and his 25-year-old Indian associate, Sahana, a Bengaluru resident. The police recovered 1.5 grams of MDMA crystals, an electronic weighing scale, and three mobile phones from their possession during the raid at their residence in Yarrappanahalli village, located in the rural district of Bengaluru.

According to police reports, Michael Okali, who arrived in India on a business visa in 2018, initially rented a house in the K.R. Puram area of Bengaluru. It was there that he became acquainted with his neighbor, Sahana. Over time, Michael allegedly recruited her into the illegal drug trade.

The pair later moved to a new location in the Balaji Layout area of Yarrappanahalli village, where they continued their drug peddling activities. The operation was uncovered after a breakthrough earlier in July, when the CCB arrested a suspect and seized four kilograms of MDMA crystals. Following further investigation and intelligence gathering, the CCB raided Michael and Sahana’s new residence, uncovering their extensive drug network.

During the Raid
While the police had initially only received information about Michael, they were surprised to find Sahana present at the scene when the raid took place. After preliminary questioning, it became clear that she had been involved in the operation from the beginning, and she was subsequently arrested.

The investigation into their operation continues, with authorities committed to tracking down more individuals linked to this drug network.
