Bengaluru Cybercrime Police Busts Online Job Fraud Ring, 10 Arrested

Police seize Rs1.74 lakh, 72 mobile phones, and other items

The Cybercrime Economic Offences and Narcotic (CEN) police from Bengaluru’s North Division successfully dismantled a large online job fraud operation, leading to the arrest of 10 individuals.

The arrested suspects include Sayed Yayha, Umar Faruk, Mohamud Maheen, Mohamud Muzamil, Thejash, Chethan, Washim, Sayed Zaid, Sahi Abdul Anan, and Omprakash. According to police, the gang had been luring job seekers with fake online employment opportunities.

In the raid, police recovered Rs1,74,000 in cash, froze Rs7,34,768 from the gang’s accounts, and seized a large collection of items: 72 mobile phones, 182 debit cards, 2 laptops, 133 SIM cards, and 127 bank passbooks. The operation highlights the growing menace of online fraud targeting job seekers in Bengaluru.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to identify further victims and uncover additional details regarding the criminal network.
